"Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe."

wow powerful image.
ReplyDeletewow I never had heard of this before.
ReplyDeletethanks for this i was not aware before.
ReplyDeleteVery powerful...Checking this out.
ReplyDeletewow, I wasn't aware of this either. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThank you for spreading awareness of this case. It's terrible that this type of racism still exists in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteWhen I tell people stories about my own life...like this one...
ReplyDeletehttp://kristikay.blogspot.com/2007/06/lets-talk-racism-in-america.html
I don't think people actually believe it, deep in their heart. They think "This can't be. It's 2007."
But, yes, it can be. It is. I could tell a dozen more stories just like it that happened to my husband and I over the course our 17 years together. Or things that happened to my husband when he was a child. Before we met. Even in the so called "racially balanced" city we are from.
I can only believe it has to get better. Otherwise I'm not sure if I could get out of bed in the morning.
Thanks for this enlightening, but truly sad post.
Thank you for sharing. I too had never heard of this.
ReplyDeletegood post!

ReplyDeleteI am studying the Dharma - the Buddhist road to enlightenment.
It has made me re-evaluate ALL of my previous beliefs / prejudices and moral certainties.
"Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is an unalterable law." - Buddha
It's awful that these things continue. I'm thankful for where I live.
ReplyDeleteWhen hate turns to insanity...
