I'm a fan of a weekly television show called, The Unit. One of the five warriors on this show is a brother, Hector. Hector's character was falling in love with a white woman. He also saw his commanding officer in a compromising position with another member of The Unit. As a result, I wasn't surprised when that ol' wives tale about the Black guy being the first one killed became real last week. My man, Hector, was killed by a sniper. We wish Demore Barnes the best of luck in his future acting career.
those folks in tv- and movieland really have no imagination, do they? heaven forbid they do something out of a recipe.

ReplyDeleteVillager, I can honestly say that I was shocked to see "Hector" up for your WW. I LOVE The Unit, but I don't know anyone else who does. I stop whatever I'm doing on Tuesday nights to watch, no recording. That show is so intense. I originally watched it because I am also a 24 fan and when they killed Dennis Haysbert off, I followed him to The Unit, not knowing that the entire cast would be great.

ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the show lately but each time I come across trailers for the show it looks so good. I used to watch the show religiously in the beginning but the my nephew went to Iraq and I kinda backed off watching war shows. I shouldn't call it a "war" show because it is so much more. I'll have to get back to it. I'm sure you did shed a tear, that show was always SO well done.

ReplyDeleteI've heard of that show but never watched it. Don't you just want to slap them around...they always mess up the good ones. I don't watch much TV...every time I find something I like they cancel it or just mess it up...so frustrating. He sounded like a very strong character too.

ReplyDeleteNever seen the Unit and while I hate it when they kill off characters I like I hate it more when you always know that at the end of the show they'll all be fine. It makes Buffy and Spooks far more thrilling because there was a sense of risk.
