It is time for the Manic Monday post. Today the word is Joy. Many of us know someone who is very sad. In my case, I am sad when I realize what a mess that I've made of my life in many respects, primarily through actions that led to divorce. I'm sad that my father passed away after his battle with cancer. I'm sad that our society is still so infected with vestiges of racism in almost every activity and action.
That being said, I'm grateful to Morgen for making Joy the word for this week. It reminded me of a simple Bible passage, Psalm 30:5:
I ask Villagers to pray for me, and others, who may be sad ... who may be crying this Christmas eve ... pray for us to remember that joy comes in the morning. Merry Christmas y'all!
Thank you for the bible passage :) My prayers are with all those who are sad this time of year. A friend on a messageboard just lost her baby to SIDS yesterday morning, I can't imagine how hard this Christmas will be for her.

Merry Christmas, Villager! And yay for the hockey players in the top left! Peter Worrell used to play on my team (The Avalanche) and was easily one of the biggest, toughest men on the ice.

ReplyDeleteI imagine that my favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings. I attended one of their games when I lived in Detroit. The game is much better when seen in person than when seen on television (IMHO).
You seem to be a good person. It's a pity there aren't more people like you.

Joy does cometh in the morning . . . it's just getting to the morning that is sometimes so difficult (smile). Keep the faith. Hopefully things will get better for you soon.
ReplyDeleteI experienced sadness also (what should've, could've, would've) and thinking of my marital status (single) but despite all that I perceive as a deficit in my life, I am yet pressing to be grateful.
ReplyDeleteI pray not only for myself, but for others who have the ability to encourage, and exhort others but find it hard to do so for ourselves...God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. let's continue to press towards the mark...together.
