Rest In Peace: Heath Ledger (1979-2008)


Actor Heath Ledger died, at the age of 28, in his downtown Manhattan residence on this date in 2008. The cause of death was an accidental combination of prescription drugs.

I truly enjoyed Heath Ledger in the roles he played in movies such as 'The Patriot' and 'A Knight's Tale'. He was also convincing in 'Brokeback Mountain' ... a movie that won an Oscar. He won a posthumous Oscar as 'Best Supporting Actor' for his role as The Joker in the new Batman movie.

    It's sad anytime to hear of a young person passing away. I did see the movie B.B.M, and it was pretty good. The acting was...he portrayed a sexually confused, macho, downlow husband-father authentically.

    I'm saddened that his daughter will not remember him and this death will fuel many rumors.

    I just posted this on my site. It's quite sad and tragic. I really do think whatever causes people to have the "it" factor also causes them to have addictive types of personalities. We are drawn to them, but they are drawn to tragedy.

    Bria - I'm not sure why ... but, I must have seen Knight's Tale about 7-8 times. Anytime it is on when I cruise with my remote control ... I stop and watch the show. For whatever reason I really liked that movie.

    The cause of his death is already being shrouded with talk of drugs.
