Michele Hoskins' Honey Creme Syrup

We remain committed to improving the use of our substantial Black spending power through information sharing on this blog. Drumbeats came to us recently about Michelle Foods Pancake Syrup. I encourage you to seek out this syrup in your Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club or other local stores (Giant, Super Target, Wal-Mart and Safeway). Please support this African American Vendor at one of these stores. Villagers, let's buy some pancake syrup!

Michele Hoskins, CEO/founder of Michele Foods recently became the FIRST African American vendor with Costco! She was on the Oprah Show and told her story, rising from welfare to faring well. She is asking ALL people, regardless of color, to support her by going to Costco and purchasing a bottle of her pancake syrup @ the cost of $3.25. If your local Costco doesn't have the product, please ask for it as we need to open the doors for all African American vendors to gain entry on the shelves of Costco.

Ain't it time to replace Aunt Jemima with Michele Foods Pancake syrup. Let's show the sista some love!

  1. Very off topic, but what the hell were those Golf Weekly people thinking? Putting a noose on their cover? The stupidity is stunning!

  2. Perfect timing, I will be grocery shopping this weekend!

  3. Woozie - My observation is that white folks are not the brightest bulb in the lamp when it comes to the appropriateness of using nooses in either language or print. I can almost guarantee that there was not a single African American voice heard when the Golf magazine's editorial board decided to have the noose on the front cover. What a step backwards for that sport ... which had been hoping to gain popularity with African Americans and other people of color.

  5. I caught part of that Oprah interview. This lady is inspiring. We just had a new Sams open recently so I'm going to have to check out her product.

Different subject. Is your Amazon book widget that shows four books at a time customizeable or is it one of the canned types? I just added a couple of individual ones the other day. I didn't know you could show more than one at a time in one widget.

  6. Martin - Let us know if you find her product at Sams.

re: Amazon box. It is a widget that I picked up fromt he Associates page on Amazon.com. The books are chosen based on parameters that I gave when creating the widget. I notice that it often shows books that I've previously featured on the blog in one place or another.

  7. O.K. I'm going to have to go to my affiliate page and maybe try that one out too.

Hey, would you mind doing a post one day on how affiliate marketing is working for you?

Also what's CushCity? I'm going to see if I can Google them up.

  10. I am so proud of her. That tells you there are so many HIDDEN secrets/recipes that we have in our community.

I am "trying" to get a recipe for some brownies from my aunt but she will NOT fess up. It has been in my family all my life and she makes the brownies from scratch. Yum! Thank you!

  11. Jennifer - Ms. Hoskins is special. Not only did she have the cooking skills ... but, she tied her cooking skills with some entreprenerial talent and created a growing business. This is a great story and something that all of us can be proud of. If any of us eat pancakes, french toast, waffles or anything else requiring syrup ... we need to be using her Honey Creme Syrup! Ujamaa in action...

  12. @Villager - I agree with you 100% that Michelle is special! Did you watch her videos on her website. She sure did go through some drama?

God definitely is watching her! Thank you always for keeping us informed. Her story was circulated last month through my school list serve and we were all in love with her story and determination to make it!

  13. Jennifer - I did see one of her videos. Your school listserv appears to be progressive in nature. Let me know if you have other information that you think would be of interest to other villagers.
