erican vendor with Costco! She was on the Oprah Show and told her story, rising from welfare to faring well. She is asking ALL people, regardless of color, to support her by going to Costco and purchasing a bottle of her pancake syrup @ the cost of $3.25. If your local Costco doesn't have the product, please ask for it as we need to open the doors for all African American vendors to gain entry on the shelves of Costco.

Woozie - My observation is that white folks are not the brightest bulb in the lamp when it comes to the appropriateness of using nooses in either language or print. I can almost guarantee that there was not a single African American voice heard when the Golf magazine's editorial board decided to have the noose on the front cover. What a step backwards for that sport ... which had been hoping to gain popularity with African Americans and other people of color.

I caught part of that Oprah interview. This lady is inspiring. We just had a new Sams open recently so I'm going to have to check out her product.
ReplyDeleteDifferent subject. Is your Amazon book widget that shows four books at a time customizeable or is it one of the canned types? I just added a couple of individual ones the other day. I didn't know you could show more than one at a time in one widget.

ReplyDeletere: Amazon box. It is a widget that I picked up fromt he Associates page on Amazon.com. The books are chosen based on parameters that I gave when creating the widget. I notice that it often shows books that I've previously featured on the blog in one place or another.
I signed up for CushCity.com affiliate program today. I'm waiting for them to give their approval.
O.K. I'm going to have to go to my affiliate page and maybe try that one out too.

I am so proud of her. That tells you there are so many HIDDEN secrets/recipes that we have in our community.
ReplyDeleteI am "trying" to get a recipe for some brownies from my aunt but she will NOT fess up. It has been in my family all my life and she makes the brownies from scratch. Yum! Thank you!
Jennifer - Ms. Hoskins is special. Not only did she have the cooking skills ... but, she tied her cooking skills with some entreprenerial talent and created a growing business. This is a great story and something that all of us can be proud of. If any of us eat pancakes, french toast, waffles or anything else requiring syrup ... we need to be using her Honey Creme Syrup! Ujamaa in action...
