Villager - not sure I agree with you on this one. Let me explain. Fox has, always will, gun after anyone not sharing white anglo-saxon protestent conservative views. So their witch hunt should not be surprising. But why the others? Well you know what I say about Ducks!
ReplyDeleteWhat we have here is racist fear! The Obama candidacy is seen as a threat to their way of life. And threats must be dealt with "by any means necessary". And what better way to do it but via mainstream media. If Barack were not ahead, there would be no fear and therefore, no attacks.
Fox virus? I suggest that the virus has simply been dormant in mainstream media until now. Remember what "mainstream media" did to Martin and Malcom. They haven't changed...they still know how to waddle.

Villager, in my estimation, Fox is out to gun for democrats/liberals.
ReplyDeleteThey are right-wing and are really exploiting this battle of the Dems. But in truth, they have blasted us, consistently, long before these primaries.
Don't see anything racist in it at all...have you ever tuned in to Fox in times other than these? There is nothing new or surprising in their position.
That's my two cents. Peace.
P.S. Don't agree with Fox at all. Just saying that their poison is not new and not racist...they hate Hillary as much.

ReplyDeleteThis link is to a site where there is a petition with 9,000 plus signatures on it dealing with this very subject. There is a demand that Fox clean up its act period.
Sojourner - I appreciate your comments. I didn't jump to the racist label with Fox News post. I do think that their attacks against Barack have been purposeful and probably driven by their owner.
ReplyDeleteI see that Barack is giving a speech on race and religion tomorrow in Philadelphia. Perhaps his candidacy rides on that speech...
Kat - I agree with you. MSNBC is deep on the liberal side of politics and Fox News is deep on the conservative side of politics. I end up using my remote quite abit (smile).
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about the new information that Barack Obama is giving speech on race & religion tomorrow?
Lady D - Asante sana for the link! I have it listed in the online petition list on my sidebar...
ReplyDeleteJust saw the news about Obama's speech tomorrow. I'm sure that he it will be moving, inspiration, and dynamic - and more importantly come directly from his heart. I pray that his speech will squash all this - although, I am very doubtful.
ReplyDeleteBut if I take race out of it, I would/could conclude that the Fox virus is due to the fact that Repubs want to run against Hilary because they are fairly confident that she can be beaten. Having watched Fox since the first Bush fiasco, that could certainly be their primary motive. But that doesn't explain the others. Why would they get on this bandwagon? Ratings perhaps?
I pray that I am wrong and that it's pure politics.

Villager...I am totally curious and eager to hear what Barack will say. No matter what, he has my vote, but I am more than a little fearful of the outcome of this most recent attack regarding his relationship with the Pastor. I fear that behind those voting curtains, some or many will pull the lever for the Repubs because of this schism among the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteObama for Prez is a dream I will continue to work for but even my enthusiasm is starting to wan all because of the Democratic in-fighting.
I truly fear that McCain will benefit and we will face 4 more years of the same ole, same ole...
Peace, Kat
Kat - I agree with you that it is important for the Democratic nomination process to come to a conclusion sooner rather than later so we can avoid the calamity of another 4-years of Bush policies implemented by McCain. Some of us are advocating for a Day of Blogging for Voter Justice to take place next Tuesday. Please join us if you have time or inclination...
ReplyDeleteSojourner - It is time for the Democratic Party to come together under one candidate so we can focus our energy on McCain. Please join the Day of Blogging for Voter Justice.
ReplyDeletepeace, Villager
Obama has yet to be scrutinized or asked any tough questions or had his background inquired about. You interpret Fox's investigating as racist hate. Welcome to politics, my dear. The flood gates are opening on Obama's lack of experience and his strange relationship with his America-hating, racist pastor. He is the pied piper of politics right now and Fox is interrupting the flute. They're doing you a favor. Hopefully you are intelligent enough to see it.
ReplyDeleteNathan - I didn't bring race up in my message. Why do you jump to the conclusion that racism is involved in the Fox attacks on Obama?
ReplyDeleteAlso, why do you feel a need to belittle the intelligence of me or others that are commenting on this post?
I don't think that Fox News is necessarily picking on Barack Obama because he is black, they hate Hillary Clinton even more. I may be one of a few people dissenting, but from what I have read, Axelrod, an adviser of Obama has said that there was knowledge that Wright could have been a problem for Obama a year ago. So, with that in mind, I guess he had some inkling of a potential problem, then maybe he should have addressed it back then or distanced himself even more back then. He still kept him on a committee on his campaign until this furor broke. Sean Hannity, a man I cannot stand, interviewed Wright a while back, and has been digging ever since. The question I have to all is, is why did Oprah stop going to the church? She was a regular attendee. So, while she is not connected to Obama's campaign, there may be some slight connection with her decision to stop going to that church. Additionally, I find it really hard to believe that Obama had no clue that Wright was capable of uttering such controversial statements. The relationship with Obama and his church spanned 20 years. There is more to it than he is saying. Just my thoughts....

Of course Fox is gunning for Obama.
ReplyDeleteThe reasoning is simple.
FOX supports republican candidates.
FOX wants a republican to be the next President.
Barack Obama would likely beat the pants off of McCain in the general election.
Hillary Clinton would likely get beaten by McCain if she were the nominee.
If FOX damages Obama, leading Clinton to the nomination, McCain can win.
Villager: I agree with your other commenters - Fox News has it in for Democrats/liberals.
ReplyDeleteJanet - Did Obama sufficiently explain his 20-year relationship with Pastor Wright's church? Personally, I feel that he explained it ... and I guess knowing that he didn't have a father in his life since he was 2-years old I can see where Obama's relationship with Wright is probably much more complex and tight than many of us have with our preachers...
ReplyDeleteGunfighter & Mo - I agree with you both. I did think that the video pulled together by the BraveNews folks was pretty cool though...
Fake Fox has always been this way, just today here in Houston the Chron ran a neg head line about Obama after his speech, only later to quickly remove it.
ReplyDeleteYet during the election the Chron endorsed Obama and not Team Clinton
gee with friends like that who needs enemies.
Boo - That is interesting to learn that Houston newspaper removed the negative headline. They must have rec'd immediate feedback on the fact that it was a very powerful speech...
