Hillary Clinton Wants Bizarro World Results

I've been watching Team Clinton talk about adding Barack Obama as their vice presidential running mate. I thought I might be in a Bizarro world. Hillary and Bill Clinton seem to talk every day on the campaign trail about having the 'best of both worlds' if the Democratic Party would have Obama on their presidential ticket.

I had to do a fact check on the current score in this presidential campaign.
  • Who is winning the popular vote? - Obama (13,007,968) vs. Clinton (12,415,816) [SOURCE]

  • Who is winning the pledged delegate count? - Obama (1378) vs. Clinton (1223) [SOURCE]

  • Who won the most caucuses or primary contests? - Obama (26) vs. Clinton (15)
Why are we listening to Team Clinton's pompous, arrogant, Bizzaro discussion about a running mate? Team Clinton is losing this election. Don't believe the hype...

  1. The idea is not a bad one, but the people involved are not good for that strategy to work. Why in the world would Obama want to play second fiddle to Hillary Clinton given all the vitriol that Team Clinton has lobbed his way? There is no plausible answer to him accepting a joint ticket. He is leading in the popular vote, as well as in the number of primaries/caucuses won, so to that I say Hillary needs him more than he needs her. He is better off just running his campaign, making some tweaks to his strategy and moving to Pennsylvania, which is a big state. I think he needs to carry a big state and he came close in Texas and with the right strategy he could win PA. Hillary is trying a new strategy, A TWO FOR ONE deal.

  3. Janet - One suggestion that I have for Barack is that he needs to re-tool his stump speech in Pennsylvania. He needs to get down-n-dirty with his economic plans; his community organizer history; and throw in some stuff about how untrustworthy Clinton is. He simply has to show some new stuff to get some of those lower-income white folks on his side...

  4. It's part of her "People will believe what we tell them" sh**...

I'm quite tired of her and her rancor...what makes her think that Barack, who has won more states, is leading in delegates and popular votes, wants to play second fiddle to her?

He doesn't need her, but she sure as hell needs him...

  5. One thing I like about Obama is he has already made a statement that he would not be on a ticket with her as VP.

That sister is crazy to think he would just walk away and let her have it. PLEASE!

  6. And tell me this - why would they think Barack would agree to put up 15 million to have another primary in Michigan and Florida? I use to think Carville was cool but he's just like the rest. Just shows that they know that Barack can win!Like Villager said - DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE HYPE!

  7. Villager, I agree with you that Obama needs to retool his strategy. Pennsylvania could be tricky, but he can make big inroads there by cutting Team Clinton's stronghold with certain groups. I have always said that he needs to go after her on policy issues, as well as on many of the issues that continue to dog her. He needs to hammer away at the fact that they refuse to release the donation list for the Clinton library. I am pretty sure that will be telling of what favors the Clintons have to call in or what deals they struck in exchange for the donations. Barack is a good orator, but he needs to start talking facts, numbers and details. He needs to continue to drive home the fact that being a First Lady does not mean that you are qualified for the presidency. Since Hillary has taken credit for Bosnia, how come she didn't deal with the issues in Somalia, for example.

  8. Ms. Marvalus - Team Clinton is like snake-oil sales people. It is like they stand in front of a house they don't own (Democratic nomination) and they are trying to see homebuyers (voters) on the house. It's a con job!

JJ Brock - When Reagan lost the nomination in 1976 to Gerald Ford he was offered the vice president slot. He turned it down. He then came back in 1980 and took the whole kit-n-kiboodle (is that a word?). That is the example that Obama should remember. He might also remember that being an 8-year vice president for Team Clinton didn't help Al Gore...

Sojourner - I must admit that I like Carville. However, he is an admitted Clinton-freak so anything he sez needs to be filtered through the Clinton lens...

Janet - Excellent points. Let's hope we hear some new stuff from Barack's campaign in the next few days. I am happy that more Obama surrogates are going public...

  9. Word.

HRC is desperate. You think if she was the front runner she'd be extending this message? No way! She represents the worst type of political personality.

  10. Dave - My hope is that the Team Clinton duplicity will crash and burn over the next six weeks. Time will tell...
