Support Activist Blogger Jasmyne Cannick; Ban Shirley Q Liquor Show

Villager, earlier this month we provided you information about the racist blackface routine of Charles Knipp. It turns out that he is scheduled to appear in Miami, FL next month. We want to have his show cancelled. Visit Jasmyne Cannick's blog for details on the call to action. Quite simply, we need to ban the degrading image of Black women as portrayed by Charles Knipp and his Shirley Q. Liquor character.

We need your help! Are you willing to support this effort?

WWW.BanShirleyQLiquor.com has been launched in an attempt to ban Knipp's minstrel show. Also, “The Bev Smith Show” on American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) will dedicate its entire broadcast today (8:12 p.m.-10 p.m. ET) to the campaign to ban Shirley Q. Liquor and spread the word about his upcoming performances.

National Black talk radio “The Bev Smith Show” on American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) will dedicate its entire Monday, March 3(7p-10p ET) broadcast to the campaign to ban Shirley Q.
