Video: Hillary Clinton Should Concede Now!

Villagers, do you realize that Hillary Clinton has absolutely no chance to win the Democratic nomination? If so, do you accept that the best chance for us to end the 8-years of George Bush policies on the economy and Iraq War is to unify the Democratic Party behind a single candidate as soon as possible?

If you answered yes to either question, then you should sign our online petition requesting that Hillary Clinton concede the nomination in the best interests of her party and our country.

Other steps you can take include:

  1. Did you sign the petition, yet? (smile)

  2. Call the Democratic National Committee on (202) 863-8000 to express your opinion.

  3. Contact the Democratic National Committee with a link to the petition to let them know your position on this matter.

  4. Contact superdelegates that have not committed
  5. Contact Hillary Clinton directly with a request for her to concede the nomination in the interests of party unity and our nation's future.

The next step is yours! What say u?

  1. Good concise post Villager.

Let's make sure though that everyone is emphasizing both singing the petition as well as sending a note/making a call to the DNC.

I think the volume of contact they get is very important. The petition and direct contacts will re-enforce each other.

  2. That video is too cute. While I've been busy blogging, this girl is busy singing.
    Bring on the petitions.

  3. Yobachi - Do you have the DNC phone number, email or other contact information that can be shared with our blog readers?

Jackie - Did you sign the online petition? Link to it can be found in the top-left sidebar...

  5. Villager if you go to my post today, you can copy that info:

Do you agree with pushing direct contact?

Sorry I'm not communicating through email, but I can't access private email at work. You can respond in the Afrospear if you want to take this convo off your blog.

  6. Yobachi - I updated my post with the suggestions you've made to encourage direct action with DNC, superdelegates and Hillary Clinton herself. I've also changed the date/time stamp of the post to ensure it stays at the top of the blog for the full Day of Blogging for Voter Justice. Thank you very much for the suggestions...

  8. Adrianne - Time will tell if we reach our goal. For now, it is wonderful to see collective online activism by The AfroSpear and other like-minded bloggers. I appreciate you taking time to visit my blog today. Had you seen that particular Obama-girl video before?

    Peace.

PS Thanks to you and to yobachi for the additional ways to try and convince Hillary to concede and unify the party.

  14. I actually think Obama is finished. As I blogged about, he has now been effectively tagged as the black candidate. The one thing that the electorate was doing a really good job of ignoring long enough to listen to him has been removed, and most are seeing him through the prism of race and his association with a seemingly "angry, embittered" black man. The upside of the Wright issue is that it came at the best time it could have when there were no primaries in the offing. He has time to recover, but he was not going to win PA anyway. He will probably lose Indiana and of the remaining contests I believe there are only two that could be considered a lock. She continues to sow fear, uncertainty and doubt among the supers. She is playing for time. She only has to keep the supers from breaking for him until the convention, where it becomes a knife fight. There are very few undecided supers, there are just lots of undeclared supers.

Now that he is dragging the stigma of being black around, I make the dreary prediction that he has been damaged beyond repair for the general election and in fact there is a real danger that she can create enough doubt about his electability to persuade the supers.

In such a scenario, my only consolation will be that she will crash and burn in the GE as a major portion of the black vote stays home and the democratic party rips itself apart and ensures it will be out of power for another decade.

  15. Villager,

Great work as usual. I will add the contact information to our post at http://therealready.blogspot.com/. While i see some saying this thing is over because America has finally figured out that Obama is Black, I have to disagree. The opportunity for America to enact real change is here and I believe Americans are ready for it by and large.

  17. I don't think Hill's gonna pack it all up just yet; particularly when she's got the support of more superdelegates. I wouldn't be suprised if she pull out some Hail Mary to captivate enough of those delegates from Krypton to bail her out. If she's able to cry enough about the Michigan/Florida delegate suppression is "Un-American", she may be able to lure a few more supes to her side.

Hill's not stupid; nor are her superdelegate supports. They know that -- regardless of the stunts they pull -- most of their electorate are forgiving and forgeting people. So even if Obama is winning the state count and the popular vote, they can still feel comfortable giving the nod to Hill. Sure, some folks will be pissed at the outset. But that anger will most likely subside within a few months (look no further than the 2000 election; undoubtedly the most shady election in history).

I hope to God that Obama can pull this off in spite of the mounting opposition. But I know the Clinton camp will put up a "Hill" of a fight until the very end...

  18. Kenya, Kat & Woozie - Dayum! I never saw this MacDaddy 54 Double D Pimp video until today...

  19. Kenya, Thank you. Watched the video. At first, I thought it was a spoof. Now, I'm left scratching my head.

Thanks for the hand up...I was really lost.

    Peace, Kat

  20. Andre - Obama needs to put a beating on her at some point in these final 10 contests. That is the only thing that will make Hillary look into her heart and say 'No Mas'. I thought she would concede if Obama won Ohio or Texas ... but, he didn't do it. Now he's got to work his magic in these remaining 10 contests...

  21. Aaron or Alaine - I have more faith in our nation in 2008 and in Barack Obama than ever before. His speech on race was so remarkable ... followed up by two other POTUS-level speeches on economy and foriegn policy ... that I think he cannot be denied in 2008. Super-delegates will continue to come out in favor of him, as Richardson did last week. Clinton's desperation will cause her to make mistakes ... including an over-reliance on the Rev Wright factor ... and it will put her out.

I predicted earlier that Hillary would concede on March 5 ... right after the Texas and Ohio primaries. I was wrong.

My current thought is that she will pull out the day after the Indiana and North Carolina primaries...

  23. Invisible Woman - Asante sana!

Boo - Yes, I call and left message for DNC chair Howard Dean. I expressed my interest in winning the election in November; need for Hillary Clinton to acknowledge her role in breaking up the unity of the party; his need to show leadership; our online protest movement and such. I left my name and phone number. No call back yet (smile)...

  24. Thanks for leaving all the contact information. I've left my comments & called also. I'm disappointed in Hillary but not surprised.

  25. All - 1,130 signatures on the Hillary Concede Now petition! We had less than 100 before the Day of Blogging for Voter Justice efforts earlier this week...
