Old School Friday: Found A Cure

Mrs. Grapevine announced that our theme this week is 'Perms'. The focus is on showing an artist with a perm hairstyle. If I could find a video with Morris Day singing 777-9111, that would have been my top choice. However, my second choice was anything showing Ashford of 'Ashford & Simpson' fame! Here is one of their best from back in the day. I hope you enjoy...

  3. Oh man! How could I have forgotten Nick Ashford? I don't know if that was Soul Glo or if it was a perm but it was tigggght and wet!

Great choice. This was one of my faves by them.

  4. He is indeed the ultimate "perm man." I did Little Richard, The "early temptations," The "early" isleys, and " Jackie Wilson."

But you had a wonderful choice...love it!

  6. Hey Villager!
I watched Morris Day's Oak Tree last night and considered posting that one, but then I watched Frankie Lymon, the Temptations, and the 5 Heartbeats (That movie had the best perms ever!!) and decided not to post any of those!!
I love Ashford and Simpson! I think my favorite from them is "Send It".
    Have a great weekend!

  13. Okay. I must be the world's most naive person because I thought his hair was naturally straight. I have relatives that look like him, and their hair isn't permed!

  15. Solid...solid as a rock...that's what this love is...

My bad, you took me back a minute Villager.

If I had time to participate - maybe a little more before summer school starts - I would have nominated Verdeen White of Earth Wind and Fire.

That brother can still throw his locks around like nobody's business.

  16. All - I've been pretty much out of pocket over the past 72 hours. I didn't have a chance to visit many other blogs. I'm in catch up mode now. I'm glad that I was able to play OSF though...
