Call on Fox News to Fire Liz Trotta

Hillary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, Roswell Beacon, Francine Torge and Doris Lessing opened the doors with their subtle and not-so-subtle references to the assassination of Barack Obama. Now we see people joking about it ON AIR.

Did you see Liz Trotta, former New York Bureau Chief of the right-wing newspaper The Washington Times, express her desire to see Barack Obama be assassinated?

It is clear that this level of discourse is absolutely unacceptable. Call Fox News at 1-888-369-4762 and let them know that openly desiring the assassination of a Presidential candidate is absolutely unacceptable, and Liz Trotta should be fired for her remarks.

  2. So this is what we've come to? They have nothing else that could stick to Barack and make him go away so death is now the only way?

I can only imagine how this wears on Barack and Michelle and their family. God love them for their strength and endurance in the face of all this...

This woman knew what she was speaking and her apology means nothing...

  3. I have supported your protest on my blog. I am just stunned at this. This is a brand new all-time low by Fox News and one of it's employees.

  4. DN - It appears that there is no consequence for such outrageous statements at Fox News. I'm not aware of even an apology from them as of yet...

Marvalus - I'm trying to get myself back into a space of wishing good thoughts and karma for the Obama family. It is difficult when so many appear to be wishing him harm. Right now, I'm praying for the strength and vigilence of the Secret Service as well...

Prof. Tracey - I appreciate you sharing this information with your blog readers. Oddly enough, I learned about it from Facebook...

  5. I learned about it from my brother, is is so incensed that he is talking about moving back to our old country if something isn't done about this escalating rhetoric of political violence.

This is from a man who believed in this country so much that he became a citizen in order to faithfully serve in the U.S. Army.

I have seen this before. My mother's homeland was temporarily overthrown in a coup in the 1990's.

Real political violence always begins with 'innocuous' rhetoric that escalates in perniciousness.

Many of my fellow Americans do not recognize nor understand what they are seeing. This course that we are on is very dangerous and must be stopped -- because by the time they start saying KILL -- and not in a joking manner -- there will be no way to stop people who think like this.

They must be engaged swifty, forcefully, and have their careers ruined without remedy. They should be financially ruined and become politically detoothed.

  6. 'm surprised I haven't read more about this considering all that was out there about Hilary. I found her without intent and thought Olberman and the blogs went commando, yet this - which is bordering on a provocation of an assassination -is getting much less play.

I'm sure you have it but there are a couple of lists where you can call sponsors or write them. There are probably more sponsors of course but if FOX is not hit hard where the money this outrageous and sickening type of activity will never end.

  8. Villager, Even for Fox, I almost can't believe this.

It's good to see that you've started a campaign; I'll steer my few readers this way.

  9. Villager,

Thank you, thank you for blowing the trumpet on this!
    {raised fist}

    To all of my peeps,

We can not be outraged and then DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...

If you are SERIOUS about expressing your rage as a collective, then please, by all means, let it rip!

  10. SheCodes - Thank you for sharing your insights from your Mom's country. I agree with you that we are on a slippery slope. Let me know if you think of other tangible ways to detooth Liz Trotta (who I must admit I had never heard of until today)...

Cooper - Thank you for the links and the sponsors. I think Hillary knew exactly what she was saying ... she is too smart to say something that hadn't been vetted by her & Bill (IMHO)...

Sojourner, Tom & Lisa - Thank you for sharing your support. Hopefully, we can bring enough pressure to bear that Fox News has some type of response...

  11. I don't think firing one individual will make a significant difference. This is reflective of Fox News as an institution. I think we should try to shut Fox News down. Stop Fox

  12. Malik - Liz Trotta is simply a battle in the ongoing war against the slanted news delivery of Fox News...
