The problem with this image is that it leaves one with the impression once again that now that Barack is president all of the issues created with slavery have been solved.

ReplyDeleteRenee - Point taken. However, I'm confident that none of the folks that regularly visit this blog feel that Obama's election ended all of the issues of race in our nation. However, there is no doubt that our nation took a large step forward with his election. Up to us to continue the Movement towards a truly perfect union.

Andre - I wonder how many of our young people know the 'Negro National Anthem'. It seems to be sung so rarely nowadays. I'm in a Black organization of IT professionals. We used to sing the song at annual banquets and such. Somewhere along the way that tradition has been lost...
