Truthiz & Sharon - Oregon is a state where people vote-by-mail. Hopefully, every single one of the 75,000 people in that audience mailed in their vote for Obama on the way back home...
This should be a Wordless Wednesday entry because I'm almost wordless. Like Obama said, "Wow!"
I don't see too many black people in the crowd. I for one am glad that he carries the votes of the educated and intellectuals, because West Virginians, can't even vote for their best interests. They are Bush democrats who voted for Bush twice, while they remain one of the poorest states in the union. Then to listen to their interviews, at least they are the only state to admit they are racist, I guess it's just in their history.
Anyway, thank God for Oregon and thinking individuals, who can see past the pundits and spins. Thank God that we see, it's not just black votes. What say you Hillary!
Iya - It has been remarkable. I recall the feeling that I had sitting up with you watching Obama's victory speech after winning the Iowa caucus. That level of pride in his audacious effort to become our POTUS stays with me to this day.
re: Oregon - I noticed that the Republican senator running for re-election is using Obama in his television commercials, touting his ability to reach across the aisle to work with Obama on issues. I guess that this Oregon politician saw the pictures of that Oregon crowd and did some quick vote-counting (smile)...
I sense that the Obama inauguration in Washington DC will have that feel as well. I was talking with a Black professional over the past weekend. He said that every Black man in America should get on bus, plane, train, auto or just WALK to be in DC for this inauguration.
That was the same feeling that we had when the MMM was coming up...

_IF the smart people of Oregon comes out tomorrow, in mass, and cast their votes for Obama?!
We shall see...
Breathtaking.

Mrs. Grapevine - Did you see where the senior senator from West Virgina, Robert Byrd, endorsed Obama yesterday?
ReplyDeleteYes, the ex-Klansman. That says a lot.
ReplyDeleteReminiscient of The Million Man March.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would see such a spectacular sight as this. This has just been a historic, unpredictable campaign. Exciting!
