Hate Crime Indictment in Megan Williams Case

Drumbeats from OverAnalyzeIt tell us that there is new developments in the Megan Williams case. One of several white people charged in the suspected kidnapping, torture and sexual assault of Megan Williams has been indicted on a hate crime count, and two others have entered guilty pleas in the case. Why have hate crime laws if they are so hard to prove?

You have to be standing next to the victim with a knife in your hand holding a sign with a racial slur on it; with your DNA splattered all over the victim's body, before the federal government will declare it a hate crime.

Oh, I forgot, you must over the age of 17 while doing it, too.
