John Boehner Doesn't Like People of Color

Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us to judge a man by his actions ("content of his character"). I'm applying that logic to Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and the judgment is a simple one -- Boehner doesn't like people of color. He appears to go out of his way to avoid any prolonged interaction with anyone that isn't Caucasian.

I began to notice the lack of racial comfort in Boehner last week when he turned down the offer to ride in Air Force One with the President, First Lady and others to the memorial being held to honor the fallen from the tragedy in Tucson. It didn't make sense to me that Boehner wouldn't go with President Obama to represent the nation at this seminal event of the new year.

In Tucson we witnessed a remarkable event:
A Republican, Catholic judge was killed going to the meeting of a Democratic Jewish Congresswoman who was saved by a Mexican-American intern and successfully operated on by a Korean-American surgeon. The dead were later eulogized by an African American President.
Where was Boehner at the time? He was hobnobbing with some white Republican leaders at some cocktail party. Boehner doesn't have a problem spending quality time with white folks ... especially if there is a cocktail included!

It is worth noting that the cocktail party was being held as part of an effort to unseat GOP chairman Michael Steele ... a Black man ... from the office he held over the past two years.

Today, we learn that Boehner is turning down an invitation to a state dinner being hosted in honor of Chinese president Hu Jintao and his wife. Boehner is second-in-succession for the presidency ... and he doesn't think it important to participate in this private dinner with the leader of the largest nation on the planet?

I thought perhaps Boehner just doesn't like to wear a tuxedo ... but, then I see that he didn't have any problem going to black-tie state dinner hosted by former president George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush a few years ago in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.

Boehner may joke about 'Being Black' ... but, the reality is that Boehner's rebuke of the African American family in the White House and our nation's guests from China shows a disturbing trend.

I think it is fair to say that Speaker John Boehner doesn't like people of color.   What say u?

Autopsy Report: Tucson Police User Taser, Fists and Baton to Kill Unarmed, Naked 50-Year Old Gary Decker

Tucson police officers admit to electrocuting 50-year old Gary Decker numerous times during their confrontation in his hotel room earlier this year. They also beat him with closed fists and police batons. Gary Decker was buck-naked and unarmed.

Despite these facts it appears that nothing will happen to the three police officers involved in this taser-related death.

The Pima County Attorney's office has released their investigation results that excuses the multiple taser shots and beat-down because the officers were in fear of their lives. Evidently, Gary Decker was "reaching" for a non-existent weapon under the hotel mattress.

The autopsy report conducted by Dr. Veena Singh from the Office of the Medical Examiner concludes that Gary Decker died from while in police custody from the "combined effects of restraint, acute cocaine intoxication and multiple blunt force injuries."

The report concludes, "The officers' fear for their safety was justified, and the force they used to negate the perceived deadly threat was not so unreasonable as to constitute a gross deviation from the standard of care that a reasonable police officer would observe faced with a similar situation."

Taser Torture of Gary Decker is Ruled a Homicide by Tucson Medical Examiner

I must admit that I was surprised to learn that the medical examiner in Tucson AZ ruled that the taser-related killing of 50-year old Gary Decker is a homicide. [SOURCE]

Villagers may recall that Decker died from a combination of cocaine intoxication, multiple blunt force injuries and being restrained after he assaulted three police officers April 16 at the Extended Stay America, 5050 E. Grant Road.

He was confronted by officers after a hotel employee and some patrons complained of hearing music and loud noises coming from his room. After knocking on the door, police officers entered the room and found Decker nude and holding the seat he had torn from the toilet.

He attacked the officers after they tried to talk to him and a struggle ensued before officers electrocuted him with their taser guns. He died a few hours later at a local hospital.

According to the autopsy report, Decker suffered two puncture wounds to his chest and additional wounds to his right hip when he was Tasered. He also received numerous rib fractures. Decker had cuts and bruises all over his body, including his head, neck, abdomen, shoulders and arms, the report states.

Homicide. Murder. Death at the hands of another. It seems that the Tucson police officers that entered that hotel room didn't get the cover they expected from their local medical examiner. I wonder if these police officers will be arrested and charged with a crime?

More importantly, I wonder if congressional hearings on taser torture are more likely as a result of this homicide ruling.

Police Taser 50-Year Old Naked Man to Death in Tucson

Villagers ... it looks like the police killed another person with their non-lethal taser.

The Tucson Police Department responded to a complaint about too much noise in a hotel room. They opened the door and found 50-year-old Gary Decker naked in the bathroom holding a seat that he had apparently torn from the toilet.

An officer tased Decker with 50,000 volts of electricity when Decker grabbed one of the officers. Officers were able to handcuff Decker and remove him from the bathroom. Decker died while in their custody.

Decker had been in town for roughly a week for a temporary job as a furniture liquidator. He lived in Kentucy.

Now he is dead. Does anyone truly think that police officers couldn't contain a 50-year old naked guy in a hotel bathroom without resorting to deadly force?

When do the police catch on that tasers shouldn't be used because they are too lazy to abide by the 'use of force continuum'?

Isabel Garcia Mocked in Hateful & Racist Manner by Tuscon Radio Station

Drumbeats from All About Race introduced us to Isabel Garcia heads up the Public Defender's office in Tucson AZ. She is a talented lawyer working to provide quality legal representation to those who could not otherwise afford it.

Apparently, she threatens the manhood of white conservatives in Arizona. One of them is Jon Justice who works for local radio station. Justice filmed a "webisode" of his show where he caressed and fondled a piƱata intended to be the likeness of Isabel Garcia.

I'm pleased to see that the Latino community organized quickly to contact radio station advertisers and local Pima County officials to express their displeasure. The immediate reaction from this community is an object lesson for Black activists when we next have to deal with racism and hatred in our community!

I encourage all villagers to take any steps possible to end the racism and hate whenever it rears its ugly head!
