Old School Friday: The Whispers

My two daughters recently saw this photo of me in my younger days on stage with The Whispers. My youngest daughter didn't know anything about them. The 16-year old daughter simply explained that they are "Old School". It seemed like a good time to play the Old School Friday music again on my blog!

Just sit back, close your eyes and allow The Whispers to take you on a musical high with this powerful song that any man would want to sing to his lady. I imagine that any lady would love to know that a brother had this song and thought in his heart as he thinks of her. This is ol' school brothers and sisters!

You took another one of my songs, I was waiting until the theme was about bedroom music to bust out the Whispers. I have to watch out for you, I see you know how to jam.

I have 2 songs by the Whispers that I just love, this is the first, but the second one I'll keep for later.

Great Choice, I do not lie when I say this song is on my ipod.

i love the whispers. i never could figure out how these brothas could let their mustaches and beards get so crazy, but whatever...they made some good music. my favorite whispers song would have to be 'do they turn you on'. that song is dangerous!

Ms. Marvalus - I hope you pull the candles out this weekend sista!

Danielle - You earned it...

Iriegal - I thought only dudes thought that way (smile)...

Vivrant Thang - I'm enjoying this weekly meme as it gives me a chance to share some of the powerful love songs from back in the day. We used to call it soul music. U know what I'm talkin' about?

Mrs. Grapevine - You and I have similiar musical tastes. You betta make sure that Mr. Grapevine is around when we finally meet in the RW...

Quick - Even us old geezers can bring it sometimes...

Villager - That is old school my brother! The Whispers knew how to bring it. Good choice.

One of my favorite groups of all time. I remember seeing them for the first time with Maze/Frankie Beverly and Ready For the World in 1986. The ticket was $13.50.

These brothers are smooth!

Stephen - Maze is a favorite. I imagine that they will find their way into one of my future OSF entries! I wonder what became of Ready For The World?
