Rush Limbaugh Apologizes as 12 Advertisers and 2 Radio Stations Drop His Show

Rush Limbaugh has been despicable and vile on his daily 3-hour syndicated radio show for decades. He regularly attacks women, Blacks, Democrats and others. For the past week he focused his energy in effort to attack 30-year old Georgetown law student, Sandra Fluke, by calling her a 'slut' and 'prostitute'.

Fluke testified to congressional Democrats that she wanted her college health plan to cover her birth control. Limbaugh wasn't impressed.

“If we’re going to have to pay for this, then we want something in return, Ms. Fluke,” Limbaugh said. “And that would be the videos of all this sex posted online so we can see what we’re getting for our money.”

He also asked the 30-year-old Fluke: “Who bought your condoms in junior high?”

And on Friday, Limbaugh scoffed at the Democrats’ talk of a conservative “war on women.”

“Amazingly, when there is the slightest bit of opposition to this new welfare entitlement being created, then all of a sudden we hate women. We want ’em barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen,” he said. “And now, at the end of this week, I am the person that the women of America are to fear the most.”

Being outrageous usually works for Limbaugh. However, this time he went to far. This time the outcry from social media was focused and effective. In the past few days seven advertisers pulled out of their sponsorship of the Limbaugh radio show.

 Rush Limbaugh is basically a prostitute himself. He sells his outrageous rhetoric for advertising revenue. Once he saw that his advertising revenue was impacted by this kerfuffle with Sandra Fluke we see that Limbaugh went into apology mode on his website.

Personally, I don't think that an apology is enough.  Rush Limbaugh needs to be suspended or removed from his radio show.  Anyone that would call my mother, sister or daughter a 'slut' or 'prostitute' on a national broadcast doesn't deserve to be on the airwaves.   We had to teach this lesson to Glenn Beck and Laura Schlessinger.

Perhaps it is time for Rush Limbaugh to learn that he doesn't have a God-given right to be a jerk on the public airwaves.   What is your opinion on this latest Limbaugh controversy?

Hank Williams Learns That It is Never a Good Idea to Compare ANYONE to Adolph Hitler

Country singer Hank Williams was on a morning television show the other day where he thought it was a good idea to compare President Obama to Adolph Hitler.

Fox Anchor Gretchen Carlson asked Williams who he liked in the GOP race, which he replied “Nobody.” A shocked Steve Doocy exclaimed, “Nobody!?”

This triggered Williams to bash Obama and Boehner’s golf game and compare the president to Hitler. All three Fox and Friends anchors sat nonplussed in utter bewilderment.

”Yeah, I don’t understand that analogy, actually,” responded a perplexed Brian Kilmeade.

“Well, I’m glad you don’t, brother, because a lot of people do,” Williams snapped. “You know, they’re the enemy. They’re the enemy.” Kilmeade was thrown for a loop. “Who’s the enemy?”

“Obama!” Williams thundered.

The Fox News anchor tried to step back from the comparison of the president to the Nazi leader. “I just want to say that we disavow any of those comments or analogies that he’s made, at least I’m going to say that, disavow the analogy between Hitler and the president.”





ESPN has been paying Hank Williams for the past 20 years to start every Monday Night Football broadcast with a rowdy song that we all know -- Are You Ready for Some Football?! The sports network pulled the video from its broadcast last night as a result of the 'Hitler' comments earlier in the day from Williams.

Williams understood that he messed up big-time and he tried to apologize:

“Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme – but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me – how ludicrous that pairing was.

They’re polar opposites and it made no sense. They don’t see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President.

Every time the media brings up the Tea Party it’s painted as racist and extremists – but there’s never a backlash – no outrage to those comparisons… Working class people are hurting – and it doesn’t seem like anybody cares. When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole when everybody else is without a job – it makes a whole lot of us angry. Something has to change. The policies have to change.”

I find it interesting that Hank Williams tried to deflect responsibility for his own stupidity by (a) blaming the media and (b) using the race card. Williams brought this shyt-storm down on himself. There was no mention of race by anyone in the interview. The idea of race must have been rollin' around in his head. It seems that Williams and other Tea Party types are becoming bolder and bolder. They feel that they can say and do whatever is on their mind without consequence. Williams learned this week that there are consequences when you go too far!

Mark Halperin Calls President Obama a 'Dick' on Morning Joe Show; Suspended by MSNBC

Mark Halperin is a regular contributor to MSNBC and a senior political analyst for TIME. He wrote a great book about the 2008 election called, "Game Changer". I imagine that Halperin is also a big fan of George Carlin. He obviously bought into Carlin's rant about the '7 Words You Can't Say on Television'.

'Dick' isn't on Carlin's list. As such, Halperin thought it was OK to say 'Dick' on MSNBC earlier this morning. Not only did he use a word that doesn't have a place in our political discourse ... he decided it was good to use it to describe the President of the United States. Seriously!?





It didn't take long for Halperin to feel the consequences. He apologized to the President and the Morning Joe viewers before the show ended, saying:

"I can’t explain why I did it. It’s inappropriate, disrespectful. I’ve already apologized, and I will again to the President.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry to the viewers…It is disrespectful, what I said was disrespectful to the president and the office but it also lowers our discourse."

He also tweeted to his followers: “I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President and the viewers of Morning Joe. My remark was not funny. I deeply regret it."


MSNBC later released this statement:

"Mark Halperin's comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst."

Halperin followed up with this statement: "I completely agree with everything in MSNBC's statement about my remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response is totally appropriate. Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it."

I think that MSNBC did the right thing.   I don't have an issue if you disagree with the President ... or anyone else in the political arena ... but, you can disagree without being disrespectful.   Shame on you Mark Halperin!

Psychology Today Issues Apology for Publishing Racist Article by Satoshi Kanazawa

The pressure finally was more than Psychology Today could bear. Psychology Today issued an apology today for publishing a horribly racist and sexist article, written by Satoshi Kanazawa, that claimed that Black women are less attractive than women from other races.

Kaja Perina, Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine, issued this statement:

“Last week, a blog post about race and appearance by Satoshi Kanazawa was published–and promptly removed–from this site. We deeply apologize for the pain and offense that this post caused. Psychology Today’s mission is to inform the public, not to provide a platform for inflammatory and offensive material. Psychology Today does not tolerate racism or prejudice of any sort. The post was not approved by Psychology Today, but we take full responsibility for its publication on our site. We have taken measures to ensure that such an incident does not occur again. Again, we are deeply sorry for the hurt that this post caused.”

It is tiresome to see the continued attacks on Black women. I'm glad that there were many of us in cyberspace that responded strongly to the poor choice that Psychology Today made by publishing this article. I wonder if others will think twice before making another attack on our Black women??

Black Women Are "Less Attractive"? Hell No!

Last week Psychology Today  posted a blog claiming that Black women are "objectively" less beautiful than women of other races. Its author, Satoshi Kanazawa, is notorious for hiding behind pseudoscience to promote discredited racist and sexist ideas.  

Under increasing scrutiny, Psychology Today removed the blog post from their site, but over a week later they still haven't issued an apology.

This blog joins ColorOfChange in demanding that Psychology Today (a)apologize, (b) explain how the blog post got past their editors, and (c) tell us howthey'll make sure nothing like this happens again.


Kanazawa's article is flawed from top to bottom. Using a flawed data-set from an unrelated study of teenagers, he draws the obviously false conclusion that Black women are "objectively" less attractive than women from other racial groups.

Kanazawa has a long history of hiding behind pseudo-science to express racist and sexist views. He once wrote an article asking "Are All Women Essentially Prostitutes?" and another suggesting that the US should have dropped nuclear bombs across the entire Middle East after 9/11 because it would have wiped out Muslim terrorists.

So why does Psychology Today continue to give him a platform? Black women must constantly face both subtle and explicit messages that they are valued less than women of other races -- messages that are especially damaging to Black girls. Now they've served as launching point for yet another attack, this time in the name of science.

To undo the damage it's done, Psychology Today needs to explicitly reject Kanazawa's ideas.

A movie that I watched ended with this monologue from the lead character.   It hit a chord with me for a number of reasons ... none of which have to do with my father ... most of which have to do with my imperfections as a father.

Rod Blagojevich: 'I'm Blacker than Barack Obama'

"I'm Blacker than Barack Obama," claimed disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich in an interview with Esquire.

"This guy, he was catapulted in on hope and change, what we hope the guy is. What the fuck? Everything he's saying's on the teleprompter. I'm Blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a Black community not far from where we lived. I saw it all growing up."

It only took a minute for Blagojevich to apologize for his stupid remarks.

There are many wiggers and wannabes in the white community. However, I've never talked with any white person who truly wanted to live life as a Black person. They enjoy their white privilege too much. Blagojevich uses race relations in a very cynical manner as demonstrated by his appointment of Sen. Roland Burris and his comments about Barack Obama.

I'm glad that he lost his political powerbase as Illinois governor. I wonder why Esquire magazine thought it worth the ink and paper to interview Blagojevich? What say u?

Megan Williams Says She Lied About West Virginia Rape and Torture Case

It hurts my heart to learn that Megan Williams lied about the torture she experienced at the hands of seven hillbillies from West Virginia. This blog took up her cause in a major way two years ago.

Villagers will recall that Williams told authorities in 2007 that she had been beaten, raped, forced to eat animal feces and taunted with racial slurs for days. She was supported in the process by her mom ... who has since passed away.

Seven white men and women were convicted in the case, and most are serving long prison terms.

We learned this week from Williams' attorney that his client fabricated the story to get back at a boyfriend who had beaten her up. The attorney, Byron Potts, said that Williams came forward because she no longer wants to live a lie. I guess Megan wanted to get out in front of the story in light of the backlash coming down on Balloon Boy's family for his hoax.



Potts encouraged West Virginia authorities to re-evaluate the case. Prosecutors in West Virginia have dismissed Williams' new claim, and lawyers for the defendants aren't discussing their plans.

This story is depressing for me. What are your thoughts?

Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga) Apologizes for his Racist 'Ghetto Grandmother' Comment

It gets tiring to hear these old white politicians apologize for their racist comments. Wouldn't it be easier to simply find a way to live in this nation and serve as a national leader in harmony with one another ... instead of playing to the fears and hatred hidden in our national conscience?

Evidently, that is too much to ask of Rep. Nathan Deal (R-Ga). Deal is running for governor of the state of Georgia. Here he is using the term 'ghetto grandmother' in a private fundraiser earlier this month:




Once a videotape of Deal delivering the “ghetto grandmothers” comment hit the airwaves, Deal quickly issued a statement of apology.

“I regret my choice of words and in no way meant to offend anyone,” he said.

How can we address racism in a positive manner if we keep electing racists?

Apology from Rep. Joe Wilson ... Latest South Carolina Republican Unable to Control Himself

It stunned me to hear someone heckling the president during his speech before the joint session of congress. However, once I learned that the heckler was Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) ... I was less surprised. After all, it is evident that Republicans in South Carolina have a difficult time controlling themselves. Self-restraint isn't high for governors or congressional representatives from South Carolina.

I guess that Rep. Wilson thought that he was at a Republican town hall meeting. A number of his colleagues, including Sen. John McCain, disowned him for his actions. As a result, he issued the following apology tonight:

"This evening, I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the president's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill," the statement said. "While I disagree with the president's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility."

I hope that Rep. Wilson pays a political price for his disrespect of the President. What say u?

Dr. David McKalip Resigns for Sending Racist Emails

A Florida neurosurgeon has resigned from his post with a county medical association after forwarding an e-mail to about 150 people with an image portraying President Barack Obama as a witch doctor.

Dr. David McKalip submitted his resignation as president-elect of the Pinellas County Medical Association last week, and plans to remove himself as a delegate with the American Medical Association.

The doctor has apologized for his actions, telling a Tampa radio station it was a "very bad mistake." In his apology last week to President Obama, he wrote,

"I genuinely regret the decision I made in passing this e-mail message along. Directly to President Obama, I sincerely apologize for offending him. This was, in no way whatsoever, my intention. The image has nothing to do with my feelings or thoughts on any race or culture. I recognize that this image is offensive and hope that the nation refocuses on assuring all Americans have access to high-quality, affordable health care with no party interfering in the patient-physician relationship."

Villager's View: I am glad to see that the good doctor lost his coveted position as president-elect of the Florida medical association. There needs to be consequences for racist behavior by public officials. I hope that he experiences a sharp drop in his medical practice revenues as well.

Racist Gary Frago Apology: 'Now I'm Sorry For It'

Atwater mayor pro tem Gary Frago is feeling the heat from the lights that are being shined on him. Frago admits to sending several emails containing racist jokes aimed at President Obama and his wife Michelle to city staff and other prominent community members.

One email compares Obama to O.J. Simpson. Another talks about Obama taxing aspirin because "it's white and it works." Another reads "Breaking News: Playboy just offered Sarah Palin $1 million to pose nude in the January issue. Michelle Obama got the same offer from National Geographic."

"They weren't threatening. I'm not a racist person, I don't know what to tell you," said Frago, "It was a bad mistake. I didn't realize it at the time. I didn't know the sensitivity of it. Now I'm sorry for it."[SOURCE]

Villagers, the pattern never seems to change. Initially, there is no contrition from these arrogant racists. Then when the pressure begins to mount we hear the first apologies. It takes a little longer for them to realize that the pressure will never stop until they step down from elected office.

Newt Gingrich: 'I Shouldn't Have Called Sonia Sotomayor a Racist'

The heat got to be too much for Newt Gingrich. He folded. He now admits that he was wrong to call Judge Sonia Sotomayor a racist. In a Human Events column, the former Republican House Leader wrote:

"My initial reaction was strong and direct -- perhaps too strong and too direct. The sentiment struck me as racist and I said so. Since then, some who want to have an open and honest consideration of Judge Sotomayor's fitness to serve on the nation's highest court have been critical of my word choice.

With these critics who want to have an honest conversation, I agree. The word "racist" should not have been applied to Judge Sotomayor as a person, even if her words themselves are unacceptable (a fact which both President Obama and his Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, have since admitted)."

The remarkable thing is that Newt Gingrich aspires to be our next President. Can you imagine having a person with his lack of discipline in the White House?

Villagers, I encourage you to continue beating the drums against the voices of hate and extremism, who instead of looking at her judicial record have launched a vocal rampage that has reached new heights of absurdity.

Take action to put a stop to it.

Newt Gingrich apologized. However, former Congressman, failed presidential candidate, and anti-immigrant extremist Tom Tancredo, unable to provide a shred of evidence for his assertion that Judge Sotomayor is a "racist," went off the deep end on CNN, saying Sotomayor belongs to "the Latino KKK without the hoods and nooses."




Raising questions and concerns about Judge Sotomayor's 17-year record on the bench is legitimate. Resorting to outdated stereotypes, defamation of character, and outright falsehoods is not ... as Newt Gingrich learned.

Please join us and send a message to Chairman Michael Steele of the RNC, House Minority Leader John Boehner, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell asking them to denounce these statements and restore the nomination process for Judge Sotomayor to a more appropriate and civil discourse.

New York Post Apologizes ... Kinda

New York Post gave a half-hearted apology for the racist cartoon published earlier this week:

Wednesday's Page Six cartoon - caricaturing Monday's police shooting of a chimpanzee in Connecticut - has created considerable controversy.

It shows two police officers standing over the chimp's body: "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill," one officer says.

It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill.

Period.

But it has been taken as something else - as a depiction of President Obama, as a thinly veiled expression of racism.

This most certainly was not its intent; to those who were offended by the image, we apologize.

However, there are some in the media and in public life who have had differences with The Post in the past - and they see the incident as an opportunity for payback.

To them, no apology is due.

Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon - even as the opportunists seek to make it something else.

I hate when people discount their apology with subsequent verbiage. If you are truly repentant about something ... then simply apologize and be done with it. Don't give some half-azzed apology like we see above. Apologizing on the one hand, while sniping at Rev. Al Sharpton on the other hand.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what the New York Post does or doesn't do. It does matter how we respond. I am proud of the response that I've seen from villagers on this racist cartoon. I imagine that folks will think twice before making comparisons of Black people to gorillas, apes, chimpanzees or other monkey-like creatures.

Villagers, her apology is not enough. Her comments and behaviour went beyond the line. Fox News needs to step up and fire her. Period. Until these types of mean-spirited comments are followed up with consequences ... they will continue to happen.

And if these comments about Obama being assassinated continue to be given public viewing on our television sets ... how long before some lunatic tries to bring the act to fruition?

MSNBC reporter was suspended for two-weeks for similiar slip earlier in the campaign season. Golf Channel reporter was suspended for joking about 'lynching' Tiger Woods. How can Liz Trotta get away with this weak-a$$ apology?
