Here are examples of what the GOP leadership is saying:
Rep. Michele Bachmann: "I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous ... having a revolution every now and then is a good thing."It is time for us to end the right-wing violence brought to us by the GOP.
Rep. John Boehner: "Take [Democratic Congressman] Steve Driehaus, for example. He may be a dead man. He can't go home to the west side of Cincinnati."
Rep. Steve King: "Let's beat that other side to a pulp! Let's take them out. Let's chase them down."
I think that we need to squash this nonsense right away. It could be dangerous if it goes on through April 19th.
Villagers will recall that April 19, 1993 was the end of the 51-day siege of the Branch Davidian building outside of Waco TX. 81 people died.
April 19, 1995 was the day that Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people with his bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Tea Party folks are making plans for a gun-toting gathering on April 19, 2010.
Villagers, we need to bring this nonsense to an end. Do you agree?

I am definitely down with this! I think there is a need or a void to be filled by an Anti-Tea Party Movement.
Hotep Villager,
I think that it is time for an organized response. I also firmly believe that we need to have a different type of grassroots leadership leading that charge. I'm real tired of listening to the old guard do verbal drive-bys about what should be happening. I think that this is non-productive.
RiPPa - My hope is that the Democratic Party continues to show some balls so that they can fill the void as the "anti-" Tea Party Movement.
btw, for the first time in Village history we have both the Village Hero (Idiots this time) and Village Movie pointing back to a single blog ... and that blog is yours!
Lady D - The grassroots leadership that resulted in Obama becoming POTUS back in 2008 may be sufficient if it can be re-awakened. That is why I hope that the Democratic Party continues to act boldly to get shyt done ... including immigration reform. They will never have more votes than they do now ... why not get it done now?!
