The Storm is Over ... Hope is Here!

I'm still feeling the glow from the November 4th election results. Are you?

Absolutely still feeling the glow. Watching the Prez-Elect's press conferences keeps the glow bright.
I hope the press can catch up to our new president and stop with the silly, "Entertainment Tonight" gossipy questions. I like the humorous questions just fine. But, they sound so silly still trying to stir up controversy by asking petty tit-for-tat-, he-said-she-said questions while Obama is taking care of serious business. The way Barack Obama handles it all brings on that glow though.

We used to sing a song in the black church of my youth "Halleleuia, The Storm Is Passing Over." I definitely feel that we are in the process of dramatic change.

Jackie - I've enjoyed his press conference as well. I like knowing that we may have a president who isn't afraid to stand in front of the media or the American people and answer questions or just tell us what's going on himself. Hope is on the way!

Revvy Rev - Personally, I like the cabinet selections by Obama. It should be interesting to see him deal with the economic issues...

I'm still feeling it too and I really do believe that there is a change coming. I'm also right with Jackie as I'm sick and tired of all the gossipy news and questions that keep coming up. Like today with Barack buying Michelle a $30K ring. Even though it wasn't true I'm whose business is it if he did. And if I hear one more report about what Michelle should do with her hair or what type of "typical or atypical" First Lady she'll be I'll scream. Frankly, I'm much more intereseted in what our new administration will be able to do about the economy, the war, health car and the like.

So, I'm joining the choir here by saying that I'm just overjoyed with great anticipation with the prospects of what America will look and feel like this time next year. Finally! Somebody intelligent, forceful, and strategically inclined in the White House. Like the Pointer Sisters say "I'm So Excited!"

Sojourner - I suppose the 'mainstream media' is trying to ride out the Obama gravy train for their sales revenue. They want to sell newspapers and magazines. Obama's campaign was like a magic elixir for them. They are still trying to milk his story for as much as they can. As such, they lose their journalistic tendencies and become more like the grocery store rags...

Still feeling the glow? Nah.

Looking around at Obama's administration keeps making me think that I actually voted for a Clinton on Election Day.

Just sayin...

Andre - Can you give an example of someone you would have preferred to see in his cabinet over his selection?

When I look at the selections I see talented men and women who will work to implement Obama's vision under Obama's leadership.

However, I'm open to the discussion. Who would you have preferred?

I mellowed out after about a week.

But like many of you, as I glance at that countdown I have on my blog to January 20, 2009 I'm starting to get excited again about having a president with brain cells, who can give a great speech, who inspires our kids, and who shares our ethnic background in the White House.

Monica - George Bush has become the image of a lame duck. I can't much wait for these next 47 or so days to be over so that we can take the "-elect" out of President-Elect Barack Obama...
