Russian Journalist Fired After Giving Middle Finger to President Obama

It appears that there are 'haters' of our president all over the globe ... even in Moscow, Russia. Award-winning journalist Tatyana Limanova was fired after making an obscene gesture when mentioning President Barack Obama in a live newscast. She says that the middle finger gesture was meant for her TV crew, not President Obama. [SOURCE]

Strange. I wish I knew what she was saying.

Daij - Sometimes the visual is more important than the audio! The thing I found strange was the the middle finger meant the same thing in Russia that it does in America! Who knew?

I've worked in newsrooms where it wasn't uncommon for journalists to do that to each other. I can't believe this anchor did it on camera!

Without knowing Russian, it's unclear whether the gesture was meant for Obama or her camera crew, as she insists. It's amazing that she gave the gesture without missing a beat as she continued to read.

Deb - Yeah ... one thing that we've learned is that Russian news editors have a low tolerance for on-air mistakes! Or else they have a big fear of Obama retaliation for such slights...
