John Edwards Gives Up On His Presidential Ambitions

We knew that Rudy was pulling out of the election today. We didn't have any warning that John Edwards was pulling out as well. Do you have any thoughts on how this decision by Edwards to leave the race will impact on Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama?

HI Villager,

I'm not happy to see Edwards drop out. Although I don't think he had a chance to win the nomination I liked the issues he interjected into the race.

It's hard to say how his departure will impact the race. The so-called experts are saying this may free up White votes for Bill Clinton, oops I mean Hillary Clinton.

That may or may not be the case but we won't have long to wait to find out. Super Tuesday is right around the corner.

MDC - I literally just heard about his dropping out a few minutes ago. I thought he was ambitious and looking to get 15% in each state so he could pick up delegates and play a decisive role at the convention this summer. I didn't have any clue he would drop out so soon.

It is now Team Clinton vs. Barack Obama.

I figure that both campaigns will be able to go out and make their case for votes in a 1-on-1 manner. Should be interesting...

I won't be voting in the 2008 elections (not a US citizen!). I'm sorry to see Edwards depart. My own political views (I am a member of the British Labour Party and a trade unionist) would put me on the left wing of the Democrats.

Clinton or Obama? Obama - he also supports my soccer team, West Ham United!

I felt that Edwards didn't really have a chance but I did not think he would drop out like this, or so soon. I really thought he would at least try to go the distance.

Villager,
Am I ranked with you?

All-Mi-T - I'll send you the information on joining The AfroSpear by email. Your blog is already on the Black Blog Ranking...

Jams - I've watched two movies about soccer on the continent recently. Both were good films and showed how fanatic the fans of soccer can be in England, Ireland and elsewhere...

OMG...I didn't expect Edwards to drop out so soon. He is a good man, but Obama is what we need. Edwards is doing the right thing. Still, we have a long, hard road ahead of us. A very long and hard road.

This is my last comment from the USA, Villager...going to spend a month in MY Motherland, Italy.

Peace, Kat

All - In hindsight ... we now have a better idea of why John Edwards pulled out of the race so unexpectedly...

Baby Mama drama!
