Latino Super-Delegate Calls Clinton 'Dumb as a Stump'

There may be a crack in the support that Hillary Clinton receives from Latino population around the country. The Latino vote is credited with providing victory for Clinton in California and Nevada contests. Steve Ybarra is a super-delegate from California. He circulated a sharp e-mail saying the removal of Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle was disloyal to Hispanics and should give "pause" to superdelegates and voters.

Ybarra told The Post that the loss of Solis Doyle, a child of Mexican immigrants, just weeks before the Texas primary, where 36 percent of the population is Hispanic, was "dumb as a stump." [Source]

She might have made a mistake with that move.

JJ - Yes, I think that there may be a number of cracks in the invincible armor of Team Clinton. Did you see that Barack won 55% of the white men voting in Virginia today?

I don't agree with him calling Clinton dumb but that was not a good move for her. Maybe it won't affect the votes, we'll see. Maybe it's not all about race? Lol.

Deidra - To be fair, he called her decision to remove the Hispanic campaign manager "dumb as a stump" ... not really Hillary herself. I just wanted a more catchy title for the post (smile)!

You notice that she is in Texas trying to reassure the Hispanics that she is right and tight with them tonight?

Damn you Villager LOL! ;)

Ms. Marvalus - I smiled as she seemed to spend 20 minutes giving shouts out to people with Hispanic surnames during her speech last night (smile).

Deidra - Exit polls say that Obama won the Latino vote during the 3 primaries yesterday...

It will be interesting to see how this move affects her standing with Latino voters.

I watched the first half and hour of her speech last night. It was obvious that she was trying to make it right during that rally.

But, she has not been able to keep a sane balance among POC's. While it is true that there are POC's who support her. There are also POC's who are going hold up, what is really going on in this camp.

There is a decent size Latino community in the O~State. I am going to be watching over the next three weeks to see if there is indication on how they feel about Obama and Clinton.

But it does seem that this particular move was poorly timed.

Lady D - What is POC?

I think that the whole political nation is going to be watching how Latinos are going to vote in Texas and Ohio. They might be the ones that make or break Team Clinton's nomination dreams...

Hi Villager,

This is what happens when candidates race bait. Billary is seeing this backlash becuase people see through their campaign tactics.

I think this is great; people are seeing the Clinton's true colors!

MDC - I hope that you're right about the backlash for race-baiting. Time will tell...

You mean to tell me that Hillary Clinton has both Latino and Black people working for her and her campaign .... SHAME ON HER for doing that. How Racist Is She to actually stand behind her committment to be inclusive to all Peoples of Color. I mean who can you trust if an Non-Racist Politician actually hiers Blacks and Latinos on their staff IN SIGNIFICANT roles and responsibilities.

GET A CLUE PEOPLE ... THIS IS SOMEONE TRYING TO GET 15 MINUTES OF FAME.

Shazza - Why the anger? We're just reporting what the Latino super-delegate said. I have no problem with Hillary competing for Latino or Black vote. I simply think that she is a poor choice as POTUS. How about you?
