Old School Friday: Billy Preston & Syreeta
The theme for this week's Ol' School Friday meme is 'Duets'. I went with a song released in 1981 by Billy Preston & Syreeta. It was the career highlight for both singers. Take a moment to enjoy soul music from back in the day!
Yes, yes, yes!!! I LOVE this song. OK, I know I say it every week, but there is so much good music out there that I grew up on, and this is a testament of that. Wooh, I don't even want to go to bed now, I just want to see what everyone else has posted. LOL
I never really cared much for this song when I was younger. Maybe I was used to hearing Billy do stuff like "Nothing From Nothing" and "Will It Go 'Round In Circles". However, hearing it again has given me a greater appreciation for it. I remember this was the love theme for "Body and Soul" starring Leon Isaac Kennedy and Jayne Kennedy.
PJazzyPar - I need to watch that b-ball movie, 'Fast Break' again just so I can hear where they play this song...
Malcolm - Our tastes get more refined as the years go by. Get used to it (smile). On another note, it's been a long time since I've seen anyone remembering Jayne Kennedy and Leon Isaac Kennedy. I wonder where they are now?
