Why would we elect another person like George W. Bush ... completely unaware of day-to-day issues and challenges ... as POTUS? Can we truly afford another four years of this nonsense in the White House?

John McCain Admits to Being 'Out of Touch'
Villagers, my election advice is simple. Believe your eyes! If a candidate tells you that, "It's easy for me to go to Washington and frankly, be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have." ... Believe him and vote accordingly!

What did he say after that? Its easy for many Americans, including Barack Obama and some reading this blog, to divorce themselves from the hard struggles many Americans face in their day to day lives.
Many people can't put gas in their car. I haven't thought about that over the past few months. I need gas..I go to the tank and fill up without hesitation. I want something to eat? I go to the grocery store or a restaurant without a thought.
Frankly, there are many reasons to not vote for John McCain without a throw away comment like that.
What politician is in touch with the people?
no we cant but you know how i feel.
Symphony - It is not difficult for me to divorce myself from the struggles. I'm working hard to improve my credit score; I'm working hard to stay timely on my child support payments; I'm working hard to grow my business; I'm working hard to put gas in the car and save for education of my children. It pains me to see our government give a trillion dollars to big businesses that are struggling without appearing to give a ish about our struggles as citizens. I think that John McCain doesn't have a clue about me or other citizens like me. Period. That is why I think he would be a terrible choice for president...
Mike ... good question. Do you have any examples in your community about politicians in touch with the people?
RDawg - I'm learning!
I heard a woman, with 3 small kids in a very small SUV, tell the clerk "give me 100 on 3". A hundred dollars! When your spouse can ware $300,000 worth a jewlrey and clothes all at one time, I'd say you're pretty much out of touch!
Hope you get a chance to drop by SjP's. Left you a little something there.
