Woo! Thanks for linking through the comments on my blog! I need to send my friend Erica (of Mom's Journal) over here. She was researching for a post about Palin and heard about the demonstration, but was frustrated by the inadequate media coverage. Were you there? Do you know what the attendance was?
Hi Villager, thank you for this. We don't get much political news here in Texas because the Palin-McCain ticket is a shoe-in for our votes. (I may vote for the Green Party, it won't count much for whoever. I do like to encourage the Green Party.) Thank you for peeking in on my Blue little car, and for your nice comment. Happy WW! :-) ..
We haven't seen this here in Hawaii, either, but for reasons that are different than what Jim described for Texas. Voters in Hawaii are very solidly behind Obama, who is considered to be a "local boy," having been born and partly raised in Hawaii -- and he still has family here.
It's good to know that not ALL americans lost their brains ! So there is still hope ! Palin doesn't have a good reputation here in Europe at all, especially women would like to see her raped just to see how much fun it makes ! I have to check if they talked about it somewhere.
Smarmoofus - I don't know the exact number ... however, it was one of the larger political rallys in Alaska...
Jim - Cynthia McKinney is the Green Party candidate. I have some issues with her and with the Green Party. This year the choice for POTUS is much easier for me than most. Have you read Obama's first book ('dreams of my father')? Reading that book solidified my support for Barack Obama in this election cycle...
BNS - It is remarkable how much Hawaii and Alaska are playing in this year's election cycle...
Gattina - I guess you've heard that the incidence of rape in Alaska is higher than any other state in America...
Hey thanks for this. I needed the laugh I got from the "Bush in a Skirt" sign. That was a classic. But seriously, most of us down in the lower 48 don't really know a helluva lot about Palin's record because ... well we don't live there. So any exposure we get is usually from the news. I have to think that was part of the reason McBush selected her... Most of us don't -- or didn't -- really know anything about her. So while we play catchup, he's distracted us from his own abysmal record.
You picked a good day to leave the link -- it's my best day of the week historically -- but I'm not sure how many people actually read the other comments.
You gotta love those signs. "The Alaska Disasta". "Bush in a Skirt". Love it. And I know you've seen how the polls are turning right back around in favor of Obama again. That's because folks have now actually met Palin and she scares the hell out of them.
Yes, Sarah Palin is essentially President Bush in a skirt! I am very encouraged by the latest national polls. They show that Barack Obama has a comfortable lead over John McCain. I hope he will continue to gather steam as we move to Election Day.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my WW post. I responded there, but also wanted to note here that a friend of mine was at the Anti-Palin Rally in Alaska.
She was pleasantly surprised at how many people were there.
I think it is great that you added these pictures as your WW post.
