Sunday Inspiration: Sammy Davis Jr, Gregory Hines and Savion Glover

Inspiration comes from many places. Sammy Davis Jr. was about six years old when his tap-dancing skills were immortalized on film.

Sammy grew up with a generation of tap-dancers. Many of them were featured in Tap, a movie starring Gregory Hines.

The youngster watching the tap-dancers in this movie was Savion Glover. He grew into the greatest tap-dancer of the 21st century.

Who are you inspiring today? Who will carry your legacy into the 22nd century? Our lives may not be captured on camera ... but, each of us is a role model for someone else. We are on stage 24/7 in many respects. Sammy to Gregory to Savion. What do you think? Are we sharing our dance with someone today?

Sunday Inspirations is the meme created by Sojourner in honor of her Mother. This is just one way to help get us through the week ahead, the trials we may face, and yes, to say Thank Ya and testify! I hope that you participate and share with us your Sunday Inspirations. Your weekly contribution may very well be the inspiration that someone else may need and has been looking for.

The Rules:
  1. Anyone can participate.
  2. You may post a video, poem, religious verse, song, story, picture, ANYTHING that has given you inspiration and the motivation to go on. Just make sure not to offend anyone.
  3. Add your name to the meme list so others can be inspired.
  4. Be and get inspired and be sure to comment.

Sammy Davis Jr was a true and inspiring talent. I remember the night when he passed the torch to Gregory Hines. And seeing three generations of extraordinary tappers in the movie was such a wonderful tribute.

Much obliged for this inspirating post. I invite you and other Villagers to SjP's where I'm freeing my mind and Honoring a Man Named King.

What a way to start the day!

I really like how you worked this Villager.

Thanks for sharing these videos for Inspirational Sunday! They certainly made me feel good and want to get moving, even though I have a terrible head cold.
