Is Faye Anderson the New Tavis Smiley?

Tom Joyner Morning Show is auditioning seven guest commentators to replace commentator Tavis Smiley. One of the finalists is an AfroSpear colleague, Faye Anderson. Faye is a powerful blogger, and public policy and new media consultant.

Faye's audition takes place on the Tuesday, July 15 @ 8:10 AM. I encourage all villagers to share some love in the comments section for Faye!

I hope TJMS brings on a new voice. I think we're losing nothing by Tavis leaving the show. The Black markets are no better than the MSM. Same people on each other's shows.

Sharpton, for example, is always on Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner and Michael Baisden. Thats bad enough but he also has his own radio and TV shows.

New voices please.

Symphony - In looking at the 7 finalists ... I only heard of one of them prior to this week. So, it is safe to say that they will be 'new voices' from my perspective.

I find myself listening to 'books on tape' when I commute, so I don't have to hear Al Sharpton much on the radio (smile)!

I'm cheering you on Faye. It would be a nice change to hear a woman's perspective. Yay Faye!

Stacey - It would be pretty kewl to have a Black blogger that we all know with such a visible platform on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. I look forward to hearing Faye's audition on 7/15/08...
