The path that my life has taken has even more meaning and makes more sense, as why I do what I do, and that is, helping others. Today I reclaimed the dignity of all my past family generation who ever had to bow down so that they may feed their families and see another day of life...Wayne that day has come! Today, I reclaim their dignity!

Julius - Amen. No more excuses. From this day each and every American must work each day to DO RIGHT ... and to give service ... and to take personal responsibility for our actions.

Today ... America is more open than ever before to all of its citizens.

Yes We Can! Yes We Did!

You know, Villager, you are exactly right. The onus of doing right is on each and everyone of us. Race cards - no matter who plays them - will no longer those "aces in the hole" that has been so often used (rightfully or wrongfully). There is a new accountability that is both visible and goes both ways. As a nation, we are more open than we've ever been and a door has been forever closed to a very dark part of our history.

I realize that we've got a ways to go - but, thank God the path we started out on today is not nearly as thorny. Today, I am just so full...I can't stop crying...and my soul keeps leaping with shear joy in anticipation of what the future truly holds for us all.

YES, WE CAN...YES, WE DID...YES, WE WILL!!!

Sojourner - I'm saddened that Sen. Byrd and Sen. Kennedy took ill today. I guess the cold weather ... their age ... their health issues ... was too much for each of them. Other than the news for these two ... today has been a non-stop joyous celebration!
